Hello all! … And welcome to the new Anarchist Free
University Discussion
List!

 

The idea of creating an archived list for general discussion
and the elaboration of the topics and issues generated at meetings, classes and
workshops has been percolating in the collective for quite some time now. Well,
here it finally is.

 

As the AFU continues to grow, change and experiment, the
benefit of having an online ‘commons’ where people involved in various
undertakings at the university can share information, ideas and experience
becomes all the more obvious. Maintaining a record our challenges and successes
to refer back to will help us continue to build on them and grow. Also,
considering we are a university of sorts, it seems appropriate to produce some
form of written output: ‘knowledge production’ some call it.

 

We invite you—student, facilitator or newcomer—to log onto
the mailing list and post topics, ask questions, share ideas, launch enterprises,
fine-tune theory or just simply ‘listen in’. It’s up to us to make it as open,
friendly, and respectful to all as humanely possible. 

 

To get the ball rolling, we’ve introduced a thread based on
some of the texts and ideas that were broached at the recent Radical Pedagogy
Workshop. Your knowledge and/or inquisitiveness are very welcome whether you
were in attendance or not.
